I have observed, People nowadays are more health and fitness conscious than they used to be before.
People have realized that health is wealth or we can say health is above wealth.
Undoubtedly, people are living very stressful life these days because of increased competitions, strict deadlines, crowded roads, pollution and bad food habits. We cannot expect to live a peaceful life with all these things.
And question is still there, how we can bring that, much needed change in our lifestyle? And answer is – nothing comes easily in life. Everyone has to work hard for everything.
Hard work is the only magic formula to lead healthy lifestyle.
We need to make some changes in routine and make sure to stick with it for years.
Setting realistic health goals is a challenge. Personally, I had often overthink the process, and in the past, I have set goals on myself that gave me none or little benefits, leaving me very much disheartened.
So, to find a healthy balance, we need to accept the fact that health and fitness is a journey and one is always evolving.
Exercise is one of the most powerful physical and mental health interventions anyone can go for. I suggest, everyone should include some form of weight or strength training exercises in everyday routine.
Unfortunately, most of the people do not exercise on daily basis and even among those who do, doing weight training or strength training program is very rare, especially with women and elderly.
Until recently, weight training or strength training was not considered to be as important as cardio exercises.
One does not have to leave cardio but including strength training is very beneficial.
In recent years, there is been a movement to motivate women to take strength or weight training regime.
I actually get surprise, when women still say to me that they don’t do any weight training because of the misconception they are having that they will become bulky and are afraid of “bulking”. So they spend most of their time on cardio machines in the gym.
This is an utter misconception as physically it cannot happen. As women don’t have the testosterone to build muscles like men.
Instead women develop muscle definition and strength without the size.
I encourage everyone to stay away from only doing the cardio exercises and should include strength or weight training in their routine.
Another misconception with many people who exercise or are new to the fitness world is that, they feel strength training is only for more experienced athletes.
However, nowadays the social media feeds are full with the update about squat, deadlift, bench press etc… This is great, because of these, now many people understand the power of strength training and how it can solely transform one’s body.
Putting everything else aside, think that “life is easier when you are strong”. Whether it is about carrying groceries or carrying babies or it comes to stuck vehicle and if anyone is planning for pregnancy than one must start weight training, as it will be very beneficial because it will make your spine and other muscles strong and will prepare the mother for carrying that extra weight and hence makes your child bearing months easy and cheerful.
Plus it will be helpful to the mother to get back in pre pregnancy shape early and easily in postpartum period.
Health and fitness is about moving your body in a ways you enjoy, getting stronger, becoming more awesome and becoming the best version of yourself.
This journey should allow one to build a body which feel great occupying and make sure you adopt habits, so you can maintain that better looking body long term.
Strength or weight training is the most important and effective exercise that one can do and virtually everyone, from younger to elderly. As the benefits go more beyond getting those big muscles.
Talking about the benefits, let me tell you more miraculous benefits of weight or strength training. May be this information will make you feel that yes I should start doing weight training.
Weightlifting improves your body composition and gives you a toned appearance.

With intense weight-training program, metabolism gets elevated and you continue to burn fat for several hours afterward. So you can have that extra piece of cake without feeling guilty.
Boost Your Metabolism
The less muscle you have, the slower your metabolism will be. With age, people lose muscle rapidly, especially after the age of 40. When you diet without doing weight training, the most of weight loss may be muscle loss.
Weight training while dieting can help you preserve and even rebuild muscle fibers.
The more lean mass you have, the higher will be the metabolism and the more calories you’ll burn all day long.

As muscles get stronger and bigger with use, so do bones, when they’re made to bear weight. Which help fight osteoporosis.
Stronger bones and increased muscle mass also give better flexibility and balance, which helps to reduce the risk of falls, which is especially important as people age.
The endorphins that are released during aerobic activities are also present during weight lifting training.
Exercise, such as weightlifting helps in relieving symptoms of depression.
